Windows Store passes 3 billion visits since Windows 10's launch

Microsoft has revealed that the Windows Store has recorded more than three billion visits since the launch of Windows 10 on July 29, 2015. The number was quoted in Microsoft's latest Windows Store trends report:

Over 3 billion visits have been made to the Store since the Windows 10 launch. While Windows 8.x still accounts for the majority of Store downloads, Windows 10 users are the fastest growing download segment, growing both in volume and total percentage of downloads.

Further, Microsoft says that it saw quite a bit of growth in paid transactions over the prior holiday season, noting that Windows 10 customers are generating four and a half times more revenue per device than Windows 8 users.

Rounding things out, Microsoft lists the most popular categories by downloads on the Windows Store. Games are the clear winner, accounting for a little over 30% of total downloads, followed by the Utilities & Tools category at 15%. Filling out the top five are the Photos & Video, Music, and Social categories.

The entire report is a fascinating look into the Windows Store, so be sure to check it out in full for a much more in-depth look at the latest trends.
